"Hi! My name is Dr. Sean Flaherty from Summer Chiropractic in Puyallup, Washington and today I would like to talk to you a little bit about different chiropractic techniques. There are several different techniques, there is several different ways to analyze the patient and as most doctors have one specialty that they really focus on, on certain technique, a lot of them will bring in other techniques to complement what they do. Some people really respond to a very physical adjustment where you will hear the bones actually moving in the joint cavity, releasing. Other people do not like that at all, they will like a very light force adjustment so you will see some guys with a more of a more physical… generally they adjust with their hands, someone that might use light force, might use their hands but also might use an instrument such as this called the activator and it is a very quick movement you can adjust it to different tensions depending on if it is an older or a younger patient and depending if you are up in the neck or may down the low back, up in the neck obviously you want to have a little bit of a lighter force, and so you will find that most chiropractors will use a quite a few different techniques to address the patient, because you want to accommodate a number of different people that come into your office."
