"Regardless of where you are traveling you want to make sure that you check ahead to see what type of insects that you may encounter while you are on your vacation, or on your trip. There are a lot of different types of disease bearing insects that live in foreign countries, especially third world countries; Africa for instance is a very popular travel destination from Florida, people going all the time to South Africa, some of them to hike Kilimanjaro, Peru, another example, Machu Picchu is a very popular destination from here. Alaska is another summer destination from here and even, people joke, the Alaskans joke about the state bird of Alaska being the mosquito. So you have to be cognizant of what types of insects may be in existence where you go. You can get that information from either the tour group that you are traveling with, from the government of the country that you are going to, or from the Center for Disease Control or the, the Environmental Protection Agency, they can let you know what you might encounter and what type of protection you might need to consider before you go."
