When we lose a tooth, or teeth, we need something to, to basically, to substitute for that. So, it will help us, or enhance, in maintaining our ability to chew, to smile, to basically function normal. But, unfortunately sometimes we lose our teeth. We don't tend to replace them with the, the normal of prosthesis. For example, we tend to use something that is removable or something like a bridge, using our adjacent teeth to connect something there. Those basically is the traditional way of doing dentistry. Because something removable, if you wear that, it's uncomfortable, it kind of pops in and out when you chew or when you talk. It just doesn't hold down as well. On the other side, when you do a fixed bridge, meaning that we shave down the two adjacent teeth and then put something over it to fill in the space. Well, that?s good but, you cutting down two perfectly healthy tooth in substitute to help replace the missing tooth or teeth. And then in long term, because of that anchorage, it tends to stress out your natural teeth and then over time you tend to lose those teeth too and you end up missing more teeth. So, definitely implants have a major role as far as being able just concentrate on the area where the tooth is missing and then placing something in that same strategic location so that it doesn't harm anything next to it, which is the adjacent teeth."
