"When looking for a provider that can do IV sedation, it's critical that the person is very comfortable with the dentist that is administering it. There's approximately four to six percent of dentists who administer IV sedation across the United States. It is very difficult to find and the training is a lot more extensive than it is for the nitrous oxide and the oral sedation. It is because of this fact, that is very important that the person seek out a dentist that is very comfortable doing this and thoroughly evaluates your medical history. Because the IV sedation is a lot more in depth, there are more side effects and more potential complications to encounter when we get you into that relaxed state. It's because of this, that you must ensure that you are comfortable with the dentist that administering this. And, make sure that they have the adequate training and that they're certified in their state. This also includes making sure that they're CPR certified and also ACLS certified. Through these methods, the dentist can safely and adequately deliver the sedation that you need in order to get the dentistry that you want."
