"Hi! My name is Monica and this first exercise I’m going to show you can do pretty much right after you ankle injury. You do want to make sure that you’re not in too much pain, and you’ve iced it or something to help it. Once the pain starts subsiding, you can start doing these right away. Let me just show you what it is. All it is, is just a simple motion. Bring your toe up and then pointing you toe down. You’ll also hear this referred to as ankle pumps. Ideally, you want to be able to have your leg elevated and having your foot hanging off or something like the bed, a chair, and you just keep moving them up and down. You want to make sure they are pain free. If you can only come to here, that’s fine. You don’t have to go all the way up and all the way down with your full normal range of motion. You can do these anywhere from 30 seconds, a minute, 2 minutes, whatever you need. Obviously, the longer the better. But for starting out, all you might be able to tolerate would be 10 or 15 seconds, maybe 30 seconds worth. "
