"Hi! I’m Monica and another stretch for carpal tunnel syndrome is actually a stretch for the nerves, not just the muscles. So the carpal tunnel right here has a median nerve that is running through it. That’s the nerve that we are going to focus on stretching right now. First thing you are going to want to do when you are stretching the nerve is just to take your fingers and just bend them back as far as you can or extend them as far as you can. If that is fine and you are not having any pain with that, the next thing you can do is bend your wrist back. You can hold your fingers back, and bend your wrist back. If that is okay too, if you are still not having any pain with that, the next thing you can go ahead and do is you can extend your thumb out, so you would have your hand like this. You bring in your wrist back. If that is okay then you can go ahead and do with your hand flat like this. So pulling all these back here with your palm up. Then finally, you can be adding a stretch to your thumb while you are doing it. So just to recap what you need to do: fingers back, wrist back, thumb out, palm up, and then again displaying a little bit of stretch of the thumb there. "
