"Hi! I’m Monica and another thing you can do for carpal tunnel syndrome, that deals with your shoulders and upper back area, is doing scapular strengthening, the muscles that are right in between your shoulder blades. The easiest way to do this would be if you are sitting in a desk or a chair or even standing, you want to be nice and upright, so that nice posture we just talked about, make sure again you have a long spine and then what you want to do is just try and pull your shoulders back. It’s just a squeezing of your shoulder blades. Then you can just hold it for about 3 or 5 seconds and relaxing. Holding it there and relaxing. So that is the simplest form of this exercise. There are other types of rowing exercises that will do the same exercise as well and help strengthen with more resistance. There are rowing machines at the gym. Again, just starting off very basic would be just a nice posture and then pulling your shoulders back, feeling your shoulder blades pinched together, holding and relaxing. "
