"Now I'm going to be doing some neck massage in the prone position for our Swedish massage which can connect me to the next part which is the scalp massage. So we can use our Effleurage techniques to get into the tissue in the neck. Nice slow rhythmic movement, not too much pressure, whichever they prefer. Using the pads of our fingers to increase circulation. Then we can move to petrissage, picking up the muscle along the side of the spine. Not putting any pressure on the spinous processes. We can use our knuckle petrissage, making sure you don't overextend your wrist. And, we can do a little muscle stripping. So, I start at the edge of the occipital ridge, moving down, stripping the upper trap and lavator scap muscles. I'll repeat that on this side. These are the techniques used on the neck."
