"We're talking about ways to enhance your hike. A great way that you can enhance your hike if you go hiking by yourself or even with someone is to add a little competition. When you add competition to the pot it makes things more interesting. You can be competitive with yourself simply by, let's say, you do the same trail and you only get so far. So by tracking your progress, you can go farther and farther each time you go out for your hike. Basically just go a little bit further every time, that's a good way where you're competitive with yourself. Also, you can be competitive with yourself by completing a loop in a faster time. So if the trail you go on goes in a loop, you may want to set your watch and see how long it takes you to do that loop. The next time you go out, try to go a bit faster with it. That's another great way that you can be competitive with yourself. So you can go by speed, you can go by distance, either really works, and both of them really gets you to work out harder and faster, and it adds a lot more variety to your basic hike."
