"Fruits and vegetables. What's the big deal with organic? Everybody always wants to know. Am I really going to be wasting my money if I buy organic? Is it really good bang for my buck? Well let me tell you, it is. There's all kinds of studies for organic produce, especially, and basically what they're saying is, organic is best. Not because, oh God, we're trying to take more money from you, or anything like that. It's not that kind of thing. The nutrients in organic vegetables and fruits, a lot more vitamins and minerals in these products than there are in their conventionally grown, pesticide-laden counterparts. So when you buy a banana, or you buy tangerine, or you buy broccoli, it's going to have a lot more nutrients in there. If you're health conscious, you're going to want more nutrients, and who doesn't want more for their money? And that's basically what's happening when you buy organic fruits and vegetables. You're getting a lot more nutrients for your money. So you're actually wasting money if you don't buy organic. What's even better is, when you go into your local health food store, and you look at all these products and you're like, "Why does it say that it's from Washington state?", "Why does one thing say that it's from China?", or something like that. Those are important things, because a lot of people that are more health-conscious realize that with fruits and vegetables, if they're locally grown in your state that they're not using a bunch of fuel to get to you. Additionally, any fruits or vegetables that are coming in from out of the country, if they're organic there--although their regulations for organic may not be the same as ours--so what their organic and our organic, may not technically be the same. But on top of that, when they come in from China, or Paraguay, or something like that, like your bananas, they actually get sprayed even though they are organic. That actually can get absorbed into the fruits and the vegetables. So buying locally or at least, in the nation, alleviates those problems, from being sprayed additionally. So you don't have to worry about that. So those are just some things you want to look for, for your organic fruits and vegetables."
