Durability is another key aspect of your glasses, you want to make sure that they are going to fit in with your lifestyle and make sure that they are going to be durable enough for you. Some of the most durable frames are titanium frames; this one here is a drill mount, which is titanium as well. The hinge less design allows for more flexibility so that you’re able to kind of bend it and do more things with it. One key though is you want to make sure that you have a polycarbonate lens with this type of design, because the polycarbonate won’t chip and won’t crack in the future. Polycarbonate on the whole is just more durable anyway. Then you have your memory metal frame once again, which are the ones you can twist and again have more flexibility with them and or hold their adjustment a lot longer. Plastic frames, a lot of people feel are more durable, one thing to keep in mind is they are more rigid and they don’t have the flexibility so you are not able to twist them or bend them and they’re, they do loose their adjustment a lot quicker and a lot easier. And then again for the lenses, you want to make sure that it’s polycarbonate if you’re rough on your glasses at all. Scratch resistant coating is always important to have, kind of help fight against scratches. Nothing will ever be scratch proof though. Most anti-reflective treatments will have an extra scratch coating on there to make them look, less likely to scratch again or you can actually add that extra coating yourself. And those are the reasons why durability is some important.
