"There are a lot of benefits to exercising regularly. Even for just a few minutes a day, gently, it doesn't have to be a strenuous workout to get benefits from it. Exercise can help you keep your joints limber, it can help improve your energy level, improve your mood, help you sleep better at night. It can also help you manage your weight especially if you?re on prednisone. You want to look for low impact exercises that aren't going to hurt your joints. You could do swimming, water aerobics is also good and if you?re up to it walking or bicycling are also good activities. You may want to incorporate some light weights for strength training if you feel up to that. Some other activities that are good include yoga gently, tai chi is also good especially for helping relax and re-energize yourself. Make sure you talk to your doctor before you start an exercise plan and find out what is ok for you to do and what might be pushing it to far. Just remember you don't have to over do it. Just developing the routine and doing a little bit each day, that's what is really going to help."
