"Hi, I'm Jan Kain, and I'm back with another Chi Gong exercise. This one's called opening the chest. Very similar position if you're standing, you can also do it seated. Soft knees, abdomen pulled in tight, arms down at the side. Again, you're going to take a big breath in, as you exhale you're going to raise both arms out to the side, keep them straight without locking. You're going to start to take the palms up and just open and stretch back. You stretch back as far as you can without hyper-extending your low back, which is why it's really important to keep the knees soft and the abdomen pulled in tight. Now, I want you to imagine that you have heavy bricks on each palm and you're trying to hold them up. So, you can feel a lot of resistance. Resistance and strength, and calm and grace all in one exercise. Opening the chest, working the upper body, the middle, and the lower. Again, roll the shoulders down the back and feel that strength in your entire upper, middle, and lower body. And to come out of it, palms down, watch the bricks, and slowly bring it back. Remember that all of these exercises can be done seated, they can be done one at a time, or together as a flow."
