"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village today I am going to show you how to recognize and to treat headaches today. Now in this clip I'm going to talk to you about how to do facial calisthenics. Now this is something that you can actually learn and do it in the privacy of your home whenever you feel early signs of a migraine coming on or you have tension headaches. Professional calisthenics has several components to it. Now let's focus on the eye area. What you do is first you relax, you can look in a mirror if you want do while you do this technique. Now close your eyes really tightly with your eyes closed like this, really tight, really put a lot of pressure and tension on those muscles around the eyes. Then do it for a few seconds and then relax and open your eyes. Repeat this several times, screw up your eyes and feel a lot of tension around your eyes and then open your eyes. The next thing you can do is at the nose area. Each time I will show you the technique and you do it several times. So what you do with your nose is scrunch it really tight and then you inhale, relax, and exhale. Let me do that without having to talk now. So you can repeat that several times. The next thing you can do is to work the whole of your facial muscles. In this particular technique you screw up your whole face, feel the pressure and put pressure and tension all over the whole of your face. Just screw up your face with your eyes tight. It doesn't matter if you really pull all these funny faces because no one is going to watch you do it in the privacy of your own home, it really doesn't matter and it is beneficial to help you at least find a way to deal with some of the pain and to relieve the severity of the pains of the headaches. So repeat this several times. Also if you can is you do the yawning. What you do is you do a big stretch and yawn and in the next clip I'm going to show you how to do other techniques and calisthenics."
