"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and today on behalf of Expert Village I am going to talk to you about how to recognize and treat pain for headaches. Now in this clip I'm going to talk about one of the ways that you can help alleviate all that usually occurs with headaches or the duration of headaches when you're actually experiencing an episode. Now one of the ways that you can do it of course is exercise and lifestyle. Now a lot of the headaches are induced by increased stress and tension on the body - muscular tension- so if you exercise then of course exercising will help to - release - relax your body, relax all the muscular tension and also increase the blood circulation and oxygen to many parts of your body and obviously to the vessels that actually deliver oxygen to your brain. And that will also help to alleviate the pain and the stress from the headaches. So here, like I said, exercise and lifestyle increases circulation, oxygen; it relaxes muscular tension to help reduce stress and anxiety. And, also exercising increasing the blood flow will also eliminate toxic wastes from the body cause some compounds or toxic wastes that you have circulating now in the body go to your brain can also trigger off headaches, migraine headaches or tension headaches. Also exercise and changing a good lifestyle will give you a sense of wellbeing and that will also help to enhance your body and your mental health and decrease anxiety and stress. And one of the major contributing factors for a lot of headaches, cause of headaches, of course smoking and alcohol. So definitely if you can not smoke and also reduce your alcohol intake that will also help you to cope and reduce the frequency and duration of headaches."
