"Hello. My name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of Expert Village today, I'm going to talk to you about how to recognize and treat headache pains. Now, in this particular clip, we're going to talk about one of the specific type of headaches that's called cluster headaches. Let's look at the board, and I've broken down some of the information about, particularly about, cluster headaches. Now, this particular type of headache affects twenty-five of the cases that come into the clinic and also within the population. And interestingly enough, this particular type of headache, cluster headaches, affects mainly the mail population. And studies have shown that there's some kind of correlation or relatedness to the course of this headache with the male hormone, or testosterone and also with the particular lifestyle, in particular smoking. So males with the high history of smoking usually come in with complaining of cluster headaches. Now these particular individuals would normally come in and complain of this very intense pain that's behind or surround one of the eyes and it's associated with other symptoms like nasal congestion, teary, tearing of the eye that comes along with also this intense pain behind one of the eye. And these particular headaches symptoms usually last for long periods. They last for days or weeks and sometimes, in some patients, they complain of lasting for months. So this is one of the many types of headaches that we've seen, cluster headaches."
