"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and in this clip I am going to talk to you about certain ways to reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer in a series of clips on how to check for prostate cancer. What are some of the things that you can actually eat or try to reduce your risk? Of course research has shown that the lycopene in tomatoes which causes the red color is a wonderful way to reduce prostate cancer. Zinc also is needed for semen production and is also an important part of the diet that you should incorporate to keep the healthy prostate gland and to reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer. Pumpkin seeds is another way and you can get very cheap pumpkin seeds in the stores and pumpkin seeds contain phytosterols which promotes healthy prostate glands too so these are things that promotes healthy prostate glands too. These are things that are very important to incorporate in your diet and are in the stores and are readily available and are relatively cheap to incorporate so you can reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer. Now some of the herbs out there that are reported to help fight against prostate cancer is Saw Palmetto or African Pygeum or Nettle Root. Now before you ever consider taking any kind of herbs in your diet to help alleviate a medical condition's signs and symptoms you should always consult with a medical profession the doctor first before you decide to take these herbs because you need to get their advice and their recommendation and if they say it is o'kay then I think the Saw Palmetto and African Pygeum which has properties to help decrease inflammation and help to reduce the frequency of urination which is one of the common symptoms of prostate problems, should be one to add into your diet and also Nettle Root which has anti-inflammatory and steroidal properties which is what you could add into your daily intake as well and to help you to fight some of the symptoms of prostate cancer or to reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer."
