"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell. Now in this clip we're going to show you how to do the Self Testicular Exam or the T.S.E. and in I'm going to show you actually how to palpate the testicle and also how to cup or hold the testicle in your hand in the cupping position. So here we have eggs, that's going to substitute for the testicle and it's in a plastic bag and the plastic bag is going to represent the scrotal sac. So when you're actually doing the examination you're going to hold one testicle, examine one testicle at a time. And you're going to hold the one testicle in this cupping position in both your hands so look at the way I've positioned my hands like in a cup formation and the testicles resting in this, in this a cupping shape of the hands. And we're going to use the thumb and the index finger and the middle finger as I mentioned and we're going to do the palpating around. And you keep moving around and feeling with a medium pressure, not to hard pressure and not too soft. All around palpating the testicle on the surface and at the same time while you're palpating you're feeling for lumps a any kind of irregularities on the surface of the testicle. And also to and you're going to observe to see if you see any redness or discoloration. So this is what you do when you actually doing the a T.S.E. or the Testicular Self Exam. You'll repeat the same thing with the other testicle and a you still use just rest the testicle in your cupping position using the appropriate fingers and you're going to feel around. So you do that and you note down any signs or any irregularities that you noticed."
