"Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Jewell. Now, in this clip, I'm going to talk to you about what you need to do or not to do to prepare for the testicular biopsy procedure either in the doctor's office or in the clinic in the hospital room in the nearest hospital. Now, this procedure is simple and is not, is quite painless. So, what you need to do is to prepare for test is the doctor will probably tell you don't take any aspirin or any kind of medication that contains aspirin one week prior to the scheduled procedure. We don't want you to have bleeding. We want you to be able to stop and prevent the continues bleeding. Aspirin will prevent it from clotting and even the bleed. So we are you to try and say don't take aspirin at all. Then, on the day of the test, they are going to ask you to go to the bathroom and just relieve yourself. Go and see if you can get a urine sample. Then they are going to ask you don't, you can eat and drink, you don't need to fast. You don't need to not drink fluid, like some other procedure that the doctor will ask you to do. So, you can eat and drink. This is a very simple procedure; it’s usually about fifteen minutes in the doctor's office. What they normally do is, just give you a very low co-anesthetic at the area of the incision site, before they cut the scope of skin and to extract a little bit of the testicular mass. One of my recommendations is to all the young males and young boys that go and get this procedure done at a very young ago, you know, it starts as young as twelve and up. When they go and take test to have this procedure done, they are very anxious and very stressed. So another way to reduce that and to make the procedure go, you know, smoothly is to also prepare and learn some relaxation techniques and methods. You know, during the weeks before you actually go in to have the procedure done. So this is how you could learn to prepare yourself for this particular procedure, testicular biopsy."
