Summary: Lose weight with the internet; learn how to use groups on The Daily Plate in this free video on using The Daily Plate website to track your diet and exercise.
"DREW NOAH: So kind of similar to the forums is the group section of The Daily Plate. And the way its different is you create a group sometimes based on like a topic or something and then people join that group and everybody can just--everyone who's a member can just join and you could be a private group or a public group. You see you've got some popular groups right here "did you exercise today?", "moms unite", but you can search for something that interests you maybe, if you're like a vegetarian you might search that and then join some of the vegetarian groups. This one's got a whole lot of members that's a pretty popular group. And when you look at the group you can see people are just posting questions and people will answer them or comment on them and individual people show up with their little--mini-food diaries will show up as well. So that's the basically how the group works. Over here in the left you'll see all the group members so you can look at individual people in this group. Go back. And if you want to join the group there is that link right there just to join and after you look at it. To create your own group, you will just go to create a group. And then you can do a group name, a description and you can make it by private and invitation only so you can make a group for just your friends if you wanted to or you could allow--see this is allow any group member to post new blog entries to the entire group. So if you leave this unchecked only you and other group administrators can choose to create blog posts so that's kind of up to you but that's in general how to use the groups section. Like I said it's kinda like the forums except that--it's just people of a similar mind set, you know, just talking in general and something like "first time dieters" sounds like a pretty interesting group so that's the groups section of The Daily Plate."
