Video Transcript

"This is Eileen Dey on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment we will talk about acupuncture and acupressure. For over 5,000 years Chinese medicine was practiced and is practiced to this day. Acupuncture has been shown to exist for over 3,000 years with the earliest needles being in the form of stone slivers. The ancients did not believe in dissecting the human body so the whole system of meridians and Chi flow was developed through observation. Acupuncture was developed by looking at the constellations of the stars and seeing that mirrored in human conditions. Acupuncture believes that by applying minute pinpoints to certain parts of the body one is able to remove blocked key and therefore restore harmony and balance to an individual. Acupressure similarly believes that by applying pressure to certain points one is able to achieve balance and harmony through the release of excess key. In this next segment we will do a demonstration of acupressure."
