"This is Eileen Dey on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment we will talk about the concept of Prana. Just like in other Eastern Cultures there is an understanding and awareness of a substance and a force that is beyond the physical. In the Hindu tradition in the iravada practice this concept is called Prana. It represents life force and it s inherent to all the practices we've been talking about. Whether that be yoga, breathe work, meditation, pacifying dotias. As well as coming to a spiritual understanding of the nature of reality. Prana infuses ones life, ones consciousness the same way that chi does in the Chinese mind set and Ki in the Japanese understanding. In our own western mind set about the only connection we might have to an idea of Prana, Chi or Ki would be our awareness of oxygen. In that we can not see it but it is all around us and yet we need it to breath and to thrive Prana is the same such substance. The channels within the human body similar to the meridians in Chinese medicines are referred to as nadies in Irivadic practice and Prana flows effortlessly through them as well as through the Chakra or energy centers of the human being. In this last segment we rap up this journey through healing traditions of the east the focus on India. This is Eileen Dey on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment we will talk about the concept of Prana.
