"This is Eileen Day on behalf of Expert Village, and in this segment we'll talk about karma, dharma, and reincarnation. These are core beliefs to the Hindu ideology. Karma represents cause and effect. It's volition. It starts by your own thought to do an action -- you begin a karmic process, and over time, and over lives, one is often influenced by their karmic "deeds", so to speak. Dharma represents one way, one path in the world. It's a way of being. It's your dharma. It's like your dharma to become an actor, your dharma to become a doctor. That is your path, your way. It may also refer to your own nature of being. And reincarnation, as mentioned earlier with karma, is one in which our soul continues to be reborn in an endless stage of birth and death, sometimes taking birth as a non-human existence, sometimes existing as human, which is considered a fruitful and beneficial existence. In our next segment, we'll talk about the caste system."
