"The solo wade is something that you can attempt by yourself using a paddle to get yourself across a short current or shallow water that's moving fairly quickly. You want to take this fairly carefully and anytime that you're wading you want to move slowly and methodically to make sure that your feet don't get stuck. Anytime you are wading, you want to be looking upstream and that way you can ensure that any traffic coming down isn't going to take out your wade attempt and mean that you have to start again or endanger your health. If you are wading by yourself, using a paddle to chalk against the river bottom and lean against as you move your feet to create a tripod is probably the most effective method. Just trying to stumble out there using your hands out in the air as support is not a very effective method. Just remember when wading by yourself or at any time please take it very slowly and very carefully to ensure that your feet don't get stuck and that you don't become an issue out on the river."
