"Well not something you want to deal with is swimming with an unconscious swimmer is something that may have to happen. If someone upstream of you capsizes and knocks his head and loses consciousness . In this eventuality you find yourself out of the boot and not to turn it into a live bait rescue then you are going to have to swim out to them fairly aggressively. Most likely they are going to be swimming face down because most unconscious people will do that. As soon as you get to them, grab them by the shoulder straps spin them over and then you are going to grab them through the shoulder straps of the life jacket, over the chest and have them on your side. At this point, you are going to be underneath them with them on your hip and you can use this other arm to side swim to shore. Again, make sure when you are swimming, you are facing downstream. "
