Video Transcript

"Today we’re going to be talking about proper posture and some exercises that you can do to help strengthen your spine, and keep it working the way it should. A very simple stretch you can do for the mid section and core stability is called cat stretch. This requires us to be on our hands and knees once again. For this one, we’ll let the stomach sag somewhat. Then what we do is we use the muscles in the lower and mid back to draw the spine upward, contracting the abdominal muscles, pushing the spine towards the ceiling. Hold for 5-10 seconds, and relax letting the stomach sag once again. Now, this stretch can be done safely 3-5 times per set, 2 set to 3 sets per day. Again, morning and evening as a warm up and a cool down."
