Series Summary

In today's world, we have all kinds of products and procedures that stop the ill effects of aging. As a culture, many of us seem to embrace the youthful look instead of gracefully growing older. Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is usually performed in order to improve the function and/or the appearance of a person's nose. Rhinoplasty is commonly called a "nose job," and can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes to correct birth defects or breathing problems.

In this free video series, our expert and doctor will teach you all about a rhinoplasty, what it is, why people get the procedure, and what the possible results are. You'll learn about deviated septums, surgical complications, recovery time, and how much it costs to have this cosmetic surgery done. Whether you want to get rhinoplasty for reconstructive reasons or cosmetic reasons, these videos will answer all of your questions regarding the procedure.

Video Transcript

"Hi, I'm Doctor Michael Walker from Hill Country Plastic Surgery Center, and I'm here today on behalf of Expert Village to talk to you about rhinoplasties, or nose jobs. Well, rhinoplasty is the medical term for a nose job, or surgery on the nose, usually concerning the appearance of the nose. A septoplasty, however, is surgery on the internal part of the nose. I'll be addressing rhinoplasties, or external appearance surgery. When should a patient consider having rhinoplasty done? Well, if someone has a nasal feature that bothers them, either due to trauma or it may have been something they were born with, if they feel that it impedes their sense of self-esteem, then you may want to consider the rhinoplasty."
