"Hello, welcome. We are raw food doctors Rick and Karen Dina. We specialize in teaching the benefits of whole natural plant food nutrition from a raw food perspective. We're here today to talk to you about what is a Vegan diet. Ok, now we're going to make a banana nut nog which you can also turn into a fantastic milkshake and there's two stages here. First we're going to make almond milk out of soaked almonds and then once we have the almond milk, we're going to add some fresh ripe bananas. Now what I've got here is approximately one cup of soaked almonds that I'm going to add to the blender carafe. Then you add some water. And in this case, we've got a cup of water, but I'm actually going to add two cups of water here and you can add anywhere between two and four cups of water depending on how concentrated or diluted you'd like your almond milk to be. So for the next phase, now that we've got the soaked almonds and the water in the blender, we're going to blend those up. And the reason we soaked the almonds ahead of time is because that makes them easier to digest. So we need to blend for about a minute. The next step is to strain the mixture through a nylon sprout bag here that will separate the milk from the fiber. Now another thing we could have done while we were blending that up is added a fresh vanilla bean to the mixture which would mix up with all this and it would add a delicious flavor. So add it just like that and then as we can see, the milk comes through the bag and we're just going to squeeze that through a little bit and by getting rid of the fiber here, we are making a very creamy, delicious, almond milk mixture."
