"Hello, welcome. We are raw food doctors Rick and Karen Dina. We specialize in teaching the benefits of whole natural plant food nutrition from a raw food perspective. We're here today to talk to you about what is a Vegan diet. What are the benefits of a whole natural plant food diet based on fresh fruits and vegetables? First of all, most people in Westernized societies are eating large amounts of domesticated animals which are far too high in saturated fat, omega 6 fats and cholesterol and they're also eating lots of processed food, also high in omega 6 fats and trans fats. This translates into cardiovascular disease, strokes, cancer, diabetes and other diseases that are the major killers. When you eat whole naturals plant foods, you avoid most of that excess that leads to the major diseases. So that's a huge benefit right there. Generally also because fresh fruits and vegetables are high in water and high in fiber, they're very low in calorie density. Because of that, it takes a large volume of food to add up to only a little bit of calories, which means you can eat lots of this food and be extremely full and satisfied and easily lose weight. Most people like that because they feel better, they have more energy and they look better as well."
