"Okay in this video series we talked about how to take blood pressure, the importance of proper technique, and then we also transitioned into changes in blood pressure with activity, and we used the models here of the cups in the sense that this would be your body's need for blood or oxygen at rest and this is your body's need for blood or oxygen during exercise. And the important point here is that as you exercise more your body needs less oxygen molecules per given volume of blood for exercise. Because it's become more efficient at utilizing these oxygen molecules for exercise. Most importantly in regards to the heart, lack of oxygen to specific areas in the heart, is what we call heart attack. And that's why exercise is important, and that's why keeping your blood pressure under control is important as well. Too high a blood pressure can create problems, and it's an indicator that your body is less efficient at delivering oxygen to the tissues."
