"Hi I’m Dr. Scott Chandler with Silver Creek Dental on behalf of Expert Village.com. This clip is about how to floss using some flossing aids that are on the market now. A common one that we use for flossing our teeth here that we found is called the glide floss picks. Now there may be some other brands that are similar and anything that gets the job done. Glide floss picks are just ones that we like in my office. Glide floss pick is just a little flosser like that. It kind of has a handle and got some grooves you can hold onto it with. One problem is some people with tight teeth is getting that floss in between those teeth because it is a little flexible and doesn’t like to pop down through there. So what you do with this glide flosser is you give it a squeeze. Right back here in the back you give it a squeeze and that tightens that up; kind of like walking the tight rope. Once that tightens up, that’s a little easier then to pop down between the teeth. So once you got that flosser down between your teeth, you take it and wrap it around the tooth and you just give it a little up and down motion. Little up and down and make sure that the floss is sinking underneath the gums there. Jump the little gum bump called the papilla and you go back to the next tooth. Floss that up and down and then back to the next tooth. Make sure you start in a spot where you know you’re at and just move all the way around the mouth. Jump to the top and move all the way around. Make sure you are getting them all. This little glide floss does a really good job getting some of those harder to reach flossing places. Another thing that I like about this is it’s got a little pick at the end. So if you’ve got some of those wider spaces that the floss just isn’t getting that old meat out of there or something; that beef jerky likes to stick between those teeth, you just use this little floss pick and you get in there very gently. You don’t want to damage your gums or do yourself any damage. Just very gently and thing kind of little flexible and little band in there and you can just pop that stuff right out of there. The kind of stuff you get between those front teeth like pieces of oranges that I hate. They are always sticking. Use this little floss pick. That is one great tool and one great way to make sure you are getting your daily flossing in. "
