"Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and in this clip, we're going to talk about the visual inspection or part two of self testicular examination or TSE. Now, as I said, you should do this on a monthly basis straight after the shower. So, here we have a subject who's demonstrating what to do. Of course, you're going to be naked and not wearing any items of clothes. But what you do is then, for the part two, is that you find a stool or a chair and you're going to raise one leg at 45 degrees angle. Relax and then of course, whichever testicle you're going to inspect and in this particular position, we have risen the left leg, so we're going to inspect the right testicle. We're going to use the right hand and use the appropriate digits, the thumb, the index finger and the middle finger of the right hand to inspect and palpate the digits. And of course, you're going to do the cupping position we had mentioned in the earlier clips. Then what you do is after that, you repeat this whole procedure on the opposite testicle, so you raise the opposite leg and in this case he's risen his right leg and he's going to inspect the left testicle. Do the same thing in this position; look to see when you've risen you're leg to see if you can see any exaggeration of any lumps or irregular bumps or if you see any discoloration and also the positioning of the testicle. So, when you've done this then, what you do is also jot this down in you're diary or log book so that you can follow the course of in case you do have any suspicious signs of maybe testicular cancer, that you actually log it. When you see the doctor, they can track back to the first time that you actually noticed it. So, this is the second part of the visual inspection for the testicular self examination. An examination that should be done on a monthly basis and also because testicular cancer can present at a very early age. Be sure to tell boys from the age of 12 and onwards how to do the testicular self examination."
