"Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Jewell, and on behalf of Expert Village, today I'm going to talk to you about ways to alleviate some of the symptoms of colds and flus. Now in this clip, we are going to talk about what we can do, what products are out there that you can take and buy to combat the soreness and the irritation that you get when you have colds and flus. Now here I have a couple of products that I bought from the local pharmacy. These are all readily available, like I said, at the pharmacy or the supermarkets or health food stores. Here's one item that is particularly important. You should actually keep this in your medicine cabinet, and that's a mouth spray. These mouth sprays you can find in various flavors; for kids, you know, cherry flavor. But basically, they all have antiseptic in it, so they will help with the inflammation and decrease inflammation and soreness in the throat. They are easy because you just basically open your mouth, and you aim to the back of your throat and you spray a couple of times. You do this throughout the day to help alleviate some of the pain and irritation from the colds and flus. Other ways to help soothe the pain is to suck on lozenges, cold lozenges. This one is a cherry flavor which is good for kids because they don't usually like medicine. And also, it has vapor action, so menthol action, in it that will also help to fight the congestion and help you breathe easier. It will relieve some of the stress that you can get when you get a really bad bout of the flu or colds. And for kids, I've found this very nice product; bubble gum. It's called Cold-Eeze bubble gum and basically, it helps to decrease the duration of colds and flus. It's great for kids because they can chew on it and it contains zinc as well. It helps with post nasal drip. It helps to ease the irritation in your throat and the soreness. And for kids it's great because once they chew the bubble gum and all the medication comes out of it, they've swallowed it and then they can spit the bubble gum out. It's more fun for them and it's tastier. So there are many ways and many products out there that you can buy to help alleviate some of the symptoms of colds and flu. "
