"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and on behalf of expert village I am going to talk to you about arthritis. In this clip we are going to talk to you about certain ways to alleviate some of the pain from arthritis. And here I have on the table couple of ways of alleviating the pain that is called hot packs or gels you can buy these products are readily available in the local drug store or any pharmacy that you can buy. I mean they are kind of medium in terms of expensive, they, it depends on where you buy them, but anyway here is it is called an instant cold pack what you do with this one, if you are out hiking or out in the woods or out about and you have pin and you want to relieve some of the pain this is an instant one you should carry in your first aid kit. You can actually take out the pack and inside there is substance with liquid that can if you squeeze the pack hard enough the liquid inside pack would actually break open and mix with the ingredients inside the pack here. You shake it and it becomes instantly cold. Then what you do is don't put it directly on your skin cause that is going to be too cold you, recommend that you wrap it up in a towel and you have here a cold apply that you can apply to your pain area the joints the knees keep it on there it just give you a way to temporarily relieve some of the pain from arthritis. Now another way, that is the cold pack here's an example of a heat pack where you can buy and it relieves the pain and this one you can apply anywhere, but this one is specifically made for the back pain when you have arthritis of the cervical lumbar spine. And it comes in these packets and they’re activated by the air so you don't open it until you are ready to use it cause the air will immediately activate the substance in the pack itself and it'll heat up automatically and then you can wear it here they have like these attachments Velcro attachments so you can just attach it to the area of the body and just wear it until the heat disappears, the heating effect of the pad. so these are some of the ways you can alleviate some of the pain from arthritis."
