"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell. In this clip I'm going to talk to you have the definition of male menopause. Now male menopause is also called andropause. In this condition we find that men have a reduction in level of testosterone levels. Either caused by age, especially when you are older in the old age group and you are over 50 and you stop reducing production levels of the male hormone testosterone. It can be due to other reasons whether it could be medically related. Some medication actually causes reduction of testosterone levels. So that would cause this person to go to a male menopausal like condition/syndrome. Now the next thing is to know male menopause is similar to the females that go into menopause. So they get the same signs of symptoms of that condition except in not so severe and very reduced level and severity. But also it is really found that male menopause is quiet common in the population especially of the older generation of people who are in medication to treat other medical conditions. So this is the definition of male menopause which is called andropause. "
