Hi my name is Carol and I'm a registered dental hygienist and in this segment we will be talking about the rubber tip which is a inner dental cleaner or also called the gum stimulator. The main reason that you would use a gum stimulator is to get along the gum line which is the main area where plaque builds up. The gum stimulator is something you could use every time you brush or once a day. Whenever using and if you look at the rubber tip is not hard and it is very soft on the gums and it actually stimulates the gums and helps blood flow up to the top of the gums. But the main job is to remove plaque and what you do is you start at the back of the tooth and use a sweeping motion going forward. Just as so and you do the same for the inside of the tooth. Start at the back and use a sweeping motion going forward. If you get any plaque off this soft sticky stuff during that time you could rinse it off under some sink water and then go back to tracing along the gum line. You could do this before and after brushing but it would probably be a little bit easier to use it after you brush. Then on the front teeth as well you can use it by using a tracing motion and then you could also get in between the spaces by pushing in between the teeth but, not to hard and then using a upward motion. With the rubber tip you want to make sure that the tip is not real worn so you would replace it about as often as you do your toothbrush about every three months and make sure to rinse it off and store it in a cool dry place just as you would your tooth brush.
