"When talking about purchasing fresh vegetables or fresh things in a grocery store, most people think of vegetables. But you can actually kind of get the short end of the stick on canned goods as well. So it?s important when buying canned goods, that you don't buy something that looks like this. Now I would never go to the store and buy a dented can. So I had to do a little action on this and throw it on the floor to give you the full effect. But basically, if you have a canned good that you are looking at in the store. Be leery because that dent could signify that there is an air leak along the edge of the can or anywhere. And that air leak is going to promote Botulism and mold spores and growth inside the can. It?s happened to me before, I've gotten a can that had a slight dent, and I opened it up and that was what was inside. So be leery of that. Also look, on a good can, look at the edges of the can. Make sure it?s not rusted. That's going to show age. And it?s also going to show that there could be leakage. So make sure that you've got a nice clean rim. And lastly canned goods do not last forever. They do last a long time. But as, you know, with this one, Best used by April 2010. So I've got a little time on this one, but they are dated. So just be sure to flip it over, you know, give it a check. Make sure you are getting something that you can store for a little while. Because that's typically why we're getting canned goods. For the length and the time. Its going to save you money and it?s going to save you a lot of headaches in the end."
