Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Connie and we're here at Heart's Adaptive Riding Center in Santa Barbara California and I'm here for Expert Village. When a disunited rider first comes to Heart's we do and initial assessment; all the riders that ride here have been signed up by their doctors saying they are able to ride here physically and their therapist and doctors, parent and aids, whoever is in charge of the rider helps us assess what we need to work on with the rider. If the rider is able to tell us themselves they'll tell us. Sometimes it's pretty obvious if you have a child with cerebral palsy and they need to work on getting the legs to stretch a little bit better, getting to work on their balance a little better. But with riders such as these it's not as obvious and with these riders which are quiet able to tell us themselves what they want to work on they'll tell us. If they want to work on getting to be better riders if they want to work on their balance, if they want to work on their strength or endurance it really is up to the riders, the doctors, the parents, the teachers with the therapists. We take everybody's ideas into account and we develop a plan for each individual. "
