"A great way to free the energy in the spine is with the restorative pose called Apanasana. Gina's going to help demonstrate that for me today. So she's going to come on down laying on her back, good. And she's just going to bring her knees up with her feet, out parallel, yeah, just like she's laying on your coffee table right there. Good. She's going to take her hands and place them right underneath the knees on the backs of her thighs. Good. She's going to inhale in and as she inhales, she presses her tail bone right into the ground and presses her shoulder blades so that the fullest length of her spine is pressed into the earth. As she exhales, she's going to bend her elbows out to the sides and draw her knees into the chest, still pressing her tail bone right down into the earth. Good. Inhaling, lifting, extending her arms back. Good. And then as she exhales, she pulls those knees into her spine. Good. So this is really good for your digestive system. Helps with the elimination, good. Inhaling in and as she exhales, pulling her elbows out, drawing her knees in, good. Really important to keep that tail bone down. She should be able to feel really lengthen through the spine, really released through the sacramen through the lower spine area. Good. Apanasana."
