"Another really great way to free the tension in your neck and get some joint mobility is through the figure eight neck rotations. Gina is going to help me demonstrate that, seated in "sukasana", nice long spine drawing her belly in lifting her heart, reaching the crown of the head right up to the sky. She's going to allow her eyes to soften close, she's going to inhale all the way up to the crown of the head and drop her chin down to the center of the chest. And as she exhales, she's going to rotate over towards the right all the way around to the back. Good. When she reaches the back, she's going to inhale drop her chin forward again, and as she exhales, rotate over to the left side first, good, bringing her head all the way to the back, good, inhaling in, bringing your head back down to the chest. As she exhales, she rotates over towards the left side this time, coming into the opposite direction, dropping her head all the way back, inhale bringing her chin down to the center of the chest. And then as she exhales, she just moves that head all the way back to the back, good, and then inhales her head back up the center. As you're moving with the rhythm of your breath, this can really put you in a quite meditative state and very relax state. It feels great."
