"Hi! This is Dr. Alida Smisek on behalf of expertvillage.com. I'm here to talk to you about tooth whitening tips and techniques. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to care for you teeth after you've whitened them. Obviously, you've invested a lot of time and money in whitening your teeth. You want to maintain that white smile as long as possible. One of the most important things to do after whitening is avoid foods and drinks that are going to restain your teeth at least for the first 48 hours after bleaching. These things would be colas, coffees, teas, red wines, and also tobacco. You also want to make sure that you're maintaining really good oral hygiene at home; brushing at least twice a day and flossing regularly, and also make sure that you're visiting your dentist for regular appointments to get your teeth cleaned. Tarter and plaque buildup will give the illusion of stained teeth, and if you get that professionally removed on a regular basis it will help maintain the white appearance of your teeth. Sometimes you may experience sensitivity after bleaching and that's a normal sequela. Your dentist could recommend products that will help control the sensitivity and help it go away."
