"Hi! This is Dr. Alida Smisek on behalf of expertvillage.com. I'm here to talk to about teeth whitening tips and techniques. In this clip, I'm going to talk about how dental whitening trays are fabricated. Should you and your dentist decide that you're a good candidate for home whitening and you decide to choose whitening trays, the first thing that would happen is you would come into the office and have impressions taken. The impressions would be poured up into a stone model, and this is an accurate representation of your teeth. This stone model is put into a vacuum form machine and a plastic form material is sucked down over the model and heated up so that it will fit really snuggly over your model. The plastic material is then trimmed back so that it's fit exactly to the teeth and gum margin. This is important because you don't want to have any of the bleaching product going onto the gum tissues."
