"In this clip we are going to talk about the safety of breast implants. Many women have concerns about weather the breast implants will cause any health effects and negative health effects of it weather there would be any problems specifically with breast cancer and the detection of breast cancer. This is a very important and sensitive subject and we spend a lot of time speaking to patents about this. Essentially your ability to examine your breasts by self examination and a Doctors ability to performs an examination as well as a radiographic examination. Weather its a mammogram or a MRI is not seriously compromised by placing a breast implant. However there are certain considerations where they maybe some difficulty. One consideration is if a woman has a strong history of breast cancer in her family and in fact has had biopsies herself she may decide not to have breast implants because of the concern of every time she has to have a biopsy there could be jeopardy to the implant or weather the implant if it becomes firm or it develops scar tissue could in some way get in the way of feeling, detecting or seeing on an X ray something in her breasts. So that is a very individual decision. And if as woman is at a very high risk of developing breast cancer. There?s absolutely no evidence that putting a breast implant in will cause breast cancer but is something that people need to think about and a strong consideration."
