How to Check an Infants Pulse for CPR

"Hi, my name is Alv Rios and I'm a paramedic with Lansing Mercy ambulance on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we're going to talk about checking for a pulse. It's important to also keep in mind that when you're checking for a pulse on an adult and children that you check their carotid. Whereas, an infant your actually going to check their brachial pulse. The brachial pulse is located right on the bicep. You're actually gonna kinda push underneath the muscle and you can feel the brachial pulse. It's important to check for a brachial pulse in infants because their carotids are not quite as developed and not accurate. By checking for the brachial pulse you're still going to feel for the five to ten seconds like you would for an adult."
