on 8/27/2009 coffee is not good for hangovers...just like alcohol it is a diuretic which in turn makes you more dehydrated. dehydration is one of the reasons why your body feels so weak when you are hungover. vitamin c is really good as it speeds up the fructose absorption in the body. and sports drinks help a lot too as they help you retain salt and water.

" Hi I’m Angela on behalf of Expert Village.com and right now I am going to show you a home remedy and healing and getting rid of your hangover the next morning. What is most important is that you have things that are high in fructose because this is what flushes out the alcohol quicker and also what makes you feel better are a good amount of carbohydrates. When you wake up, the first thing you want to do is have at least 2 cups of coffee. This wakes you up and allows your system to rejuvenate initially. Then in the morning what I recommend are toasted bread with honey because immediately you are getting something that is extremely high in fructose and your carbohydrates having the 2 cups of coffee. Another thing that helps that is high in fructose is juice and right here is apple cider and this is high in sugar and high in fructose as well as Minute Maid. You want to avoid diet sodas because they do not contain this. They have been remade with Splenda which does not have the high fructose in it which makes it a regular soda or a regular juice. Another thing that is really high is syrup. If you have waffles, you have your carbohydrates and you have something that is very high in fructose and this eliminates your hangover for the day. If it’s even worse, I recommend taking pain reliever along with these. That is a home remedy of getting rid of your hangover in the morning. "
