" Hi! I am Angela on behalf of expertvillage.com and right now I will be discussing proper standing posture. What you want to do is concentrate on putting your weight on the balls of your feet and not on your heels, and you want to avoid locking your knees back like this. You want to have them just slightly forward like this and then let your arms fall and just have your head straight up as though like a string is just holding it up and do not go like this and do not lean back or hyperextend it. Also, what you want to do is have your shoulders back and not slouched. This affects the back and the shoulder and it will cause pain. You just want to do this, and a way to practice this is to see if you have proper posture is to lean against a wall and if your head is not touching the wall, that means it just naturally leans forward, which you need to correct, so after that I have proper posture. My arms are relaxed, my knees are not locked and I am concentrating on the balls of my feet. Another technique you can use to correct your posture is to pretend that you will always have a stack of books on your head that you are having to balance; in that case, you have to keep your head up.
