"This is the basics of massage etiquette, guest in the massage room. On occasion, you're going to find and, usually, it's a first time client, who has some concerns about disrobing, whether completely or partially in a room with a stranger and they may want to bring a guest into the massage room. Some therapist absolutely refuse to work under those conditions. Obviously, the client in that case is going to go to somebody else. If you're a therapist who's comfortable having other people in the room, one of the things that you have to remember is all of the sensitivity issues to your client themself. You may need to have the guest wait outside the room with you while the client disrobes and situates themself on the table. Another thing to keep in mind is any issues that you may have regarding the client's health. Whoever the person is that they choose to have come with them may not be and, usually won't be privy to all that person's personal health information. So be sure and clear all of that with the client before you bring anybody else into the room. That's the basics of massage etiquette, guest in the client massage room."
