"Hi. I'm Dr. Filardo and I'm a Chiropractic physician here on behalf of Expert Village. This is our third segment this morning and we are here at our office. The next segment is: how to choose a good chiropractor. We hear that a lot from patients and some of our patients move out of state and they call us back and they say can you call and talk to this other doctor in town? It's a very, very good question. We support all doctors and we support all referrals. We are here in Winter Park and it's a very community based, family based area. We definitely support. We never diminish any other physician. So it's important to figure out the education of that physician and where they went to school and their experience level. So, that's what we do. If you are looking to choose a good chiropractor, go out and look at his credentials. You want to look at what school he went to and the type of technique that he uses. So, what we do is we have referral books. So, the college that I went to, which was the National College in Chicago, they give a referral book. So, I know which other doctors in the other areas and the other states are going to be practicing there. I know that National College is one of the best colleges at the time. SO, then I'll also look at their undergraduate training. Some schools, there is..a patient may be in a liberal arts setting, but then they took the prerequisites. I always like doctors that went premedical and that's what their training was in. So, I was a human physiology....a Bachelors in Science of Human Physiology as well as Human Biology. Then I got a doctorate degree in Chiropractic. So I always look at the undergraduate and then I look at the school that they went to. National Colleges are very, very good. Palmer is another good one. Probably some of the other schools are very, very good, but I'll just mention the three that I'm aware of. It's Palmer, and National and also, the third one would be Logan College. Those are the ways to look for a good chiropractor. Then the other way is, if you do have an existing chiropractor, but you happen to be moving, is opening that line of communication between the new physician and your existing physician. They'll send all of the records over and the doctor, I'm sure that is currently working on you, to establish a relationship and get on the phone with that doctor and talk about how they may be of some help to the patient as well."
