"Hi! I'm Brenda F. Dixon. I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I'm the owner of Life Help Now in Nashville, Tennessee, and we are here with Expert Village. Our topic today is how to deal with anxiety disorder. I've been progressing, giving you a couple of little tips on how to handle anxiety disorder. Another thing that I do actually with my clients is I will tell them to record how many times in 24 hours that they actually have fear, they actually think about it, they actually do something that is a fearful act. I have clients that come to me and they will say, Well, I do this all the time, or this always happens to me, or this never happens to me. What I do with that is I want to record it. I want them to look at it and see if it is all the time, if it is 10 times a day, or if it is 20 times days, or is that they just do it on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe they do this panic thinking just when they come home on the afternoon. I want them to record when they do this so I will know what it looks like. They will have an insight on what's happening. It empowers them. It gives them knowledge about what's going on with this anxiety, this fear based disorder that they have."
