"TRAVIS JOHNS: Hi. I'm Travis Johns with Expert Village, and I'm going to talk to you about networking and feedback. At the end of a project, one would assume that everything went well. The client was happy with your work, you are creatively satisfied, you got paid for the job. And this is the part that sometimes more difficult than the work itself: Making sure that you're going to get customers that are going to come back time and time again. Obviously, the client that you just did a job for, if they're happy with it, they might have other friends that would want the same kind of work, too. You can use this opportunity to leverage all the work that you've done beforehand, the quality of that work, to your advantage. So, if you finished a 3-minute video project for one company and there's a similar company in the area, you could call them up and maybe cold call them or through a reference someone you know, contact them, and possibly get the same kind of job from them as well. The feedback is also very important. It's important to ask the client "What did I excel at?" "Where there any areas I could have improved?" "Is there anything they wish should have happened differently?" All of these ideas will help you as you continue to work project to project, client to client to get better and better and hopefully, become more successful."
